Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hanson, Kimberly Kirberger, and Mitch Claspy

My favorite book will have to be Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hanson, Kimberly Kirberger, and Mitch Claspy. I love this book because it relates to us teens and talks about certant stages in our life and how to overcome the obstacles that are holding us back. The characters in this book are “us.” Other teens are the authors and characters of these stories. Like, have you ever been dumped? How should you handle it? Well, the main idea of this book is to inform you that you aren’t the only one going through this others go through it as well. They share their heart-warming stories with you. There are stories about love, Life, Learning, and much more. Want to find out what exacly these teens go through? Then read this book. You won’t regret it, at least I didn’t!

I am Legend

I think that the best book I’ve ever read is the sci-fi horror I am Legend. There are so many great things about this book, mainly in the mental health department, but it’s still good. Being the last man on earth forces Robert Neville to live a life of solitude. Because he is condemned to his house he forces himself to live with the pain. Slowly he literally starts to go insane and loses most if not all characteristics of being human. Along the way he finds slight glimmers of hope, like stepping stones back to sanity, but in the end it ultimately leads to his damnation. This book makes me wonder what it must be like to live alone every day, holding on to remnants of the past.At night fear is the only feeling that sinks in, and it sticks with you until the first rays of sunshine appear. Hiding from an infection that already claimed your family, and yet it’s still out to get you. At this moment in your life what would you do?

A little bit later in the book Grubbs meets Bill-E and they suspect that Dervish is a werewolf. It turns out that Bill-e is the actual werewolf. Grubbs and Dervish then have to battle Lord Loss in a twisted chess game to rid Bill-E of the curse. Will Grubbs and Dervish rid the curse on Bill-E.

Twilight
by Stephenie Meyer

My favorite book is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is an excellent book. As soon as I began reading it, I couldn’t put it down. The main character, Bella Swan, moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father. Charlie. While she deals with the everyday struggles of a new school, there’s also a very strange boy named Edward Cullen. He stares at her glumly all day at school. Until Suddenly, he starts talking to Bella with a much delighted tone. Over time, Bella and Edward develop a great relationship. Then, Bella’s old family friend, Jacob Black, tells her some old legends about vampires and werewolves. Which gets Bella thinking…Could I be in love with a vampire? Could you be in love with a vampire? I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is passionate about great literature.

The Outsiders

The Outsiders is an exiting novel about struggle and friendship. The characters Pony boy, Johnny, and Dally lived in a town where on the east side of town was the home of the soc’s or rich kids. Pony boy, Johnny, and Dally lived on the west side where all the greasers lived. The guys always stayed together and rely on each other to stay out of harm. Dally was the tough one in the in the gang. One night when Pony boy has a problem at home and runs away with Johnny to the park. The soc’s run into Johnny and Pony boy. The soc’s wanted to kill Pony boy. Johnny out of fear pulls out his pocket knife and kills one of the soc’s. Johnny and Pony boy run away to a distance town with the help of Dally. It was a real test for their friendship. I want the readers to think about how character and reliability is important in a friendship? This changed my way of thinking of the book, it showed me what I should look for in a friendship.

Johnny Tremain
by Ester Ferbes

Johnny Tremain by Ester Ferbes is an action packed historical fiction novel. It is filled with excitement, about a teen named Johnny Tremain. Included with his crazy adventures, he needs to overcome shooting, crafting, injuries, and war.
The book Johnny Tremain, is about an average boy named Johnny. He is a very talented silversmith. In that time period he was drafted to serve in the Revolutionary War. While leaving leaving his friends and family he was struggling to stay alive . His apprentice, James Otis, lends him a red coat war suit. With the war suit on he can now hear the enemies secrets without getting killed. Towards the end of the book, something tragic happens to James Otis. Johnny, his long time friend, was very sad. This book taught me a lot of unknown facts about the times of the Revolutionary War. Many people were faced with hard situations. It makes me think about how hard it would be for me to survive in that period.

Uglies

I started a book one day that I loved; Uglies tells the intense and exciting story of Tally Youngeblood. In this world, every problem is believed to be solved with eight hours of plastic surgery, making people sophisticatedly gorgeous starting at age 15. But Tally’s friend Shay thinks she lives in a messed-up society and runs away into the wild to avoid her surgery. This book made me think about how so many people give too much importance to beauty. I like this book a lot because it’s very hard to put down once you engage with its flashing opinions, as well as its love situations that you can’t help but giggle about. I highly recommend people reading this book. When you’re done done check-out Pretties, Specials, and Extras.

Inkspell
by Cornelia Funke

Inkspell is a sequal to Inkheart. Cornelia Funke has answers about everyone’s questions about wanting to go into a book. It might seem all fun at first, but things are not always what they seem. Even the words on a page of a book can be deceiving.

The main character of Inkspell is Maggie, daughter or Mortimer, a book binder also known as Silvertongue. They both have a very special gift with their voices. They are able to read aloud charcters in books and they come out of the books, but they have no control over who comes out. Just as they thought their family was back together again, two faces from the past show up.

Journey with Maggie and Farid (Farid is a character in another book that Mortimer read out of the book) as they go into a book called Inkheart to warn Dustfinger (main character in the book Inkheart) about the danger awaiting him in his own world. They will meet old faces, and many new ones. As they continue their journey through a never ending story of nightmares, will there finally be a happy ending for the good guys? Or another fatality? Can Maggie’s voice really save the world of Inkheart?
